To Be or Not to Be
Deliberating about what the heck I am doing gearing up to show, sell or teach art. Retirement is busy enough. But I have a fully functioning studio with lots to play with and I really love sharing the sense of fun and self-discovery, or loss of self consciousness, that artistic play can provide. How do I teach people to let go and reach inside to reclaim a sense of play and experimentation. Think of how you decide anything. What kind of car you are going to buy and what color do you want the outside to be, the interior? What are you wearing to work today? How do your arrange your living room? How do you make a salad? Do you cut the vegetables very small or chunky? What do you include or avoid? This is how we are all making art all the time. You can apply your particularly unique decision making to any medium you choose. If interested contact me and we can arrange for a 2 day mosaic workshop ideally here where my studio is because it is a lot to schlepp to somewhere else. I can take up to 4 people. It is a lot of fun. I also offer workshops so far just locally at various venues in paper mosaic, painting, and sculpey as bas relief. The Not to Be part of my thinking is I am going to put a time limit on how long I want to do this because there is only so much time and I spent 30 of my adult years at work, and I am delightfully spending time finally making art, but there is travel, there is meditation, and there is the unknown I must prepare to be flexible around. But for now, all lights are green, my health is good, and I am gunning it.
